Empowering Underserved Children
Our mission is to have a positive impact on the lives of underserved children in the Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC metro communities. We believe our efforts enhance lives by providing education and support for those who need it, which will in turn enhance their ability to become productive and fulfilled citizens.

How We Choose Our Partners
Charitable organizations are selected through an intensive review process, overseen by the Chairman of the Grant Nominations committee. Every three years the Society begins the process of selecting three new charities to receive our 3-year grant of $5,000/yr. Members of the Grant Nominations committee include the officers of the Society, plus any additional committee members appointed by the President.
Who Can Nominate a Charity?
Any NAIFA-Greater Washington DC member who is also a currently contributing member of the Helping Hands Society (or a lifetime contributor of $5,000 or more, where membership in GWDC is not mandatory) can nominate a 501c3 organization. Nomination forms and supporting material are due by October 1.
